RE/MAX Impact of Lockport Relocates to New Office in Historic Downtown Area

RE/MAX Impact of Lockport, Ill., is among those businesses to join the trend that is reshaping and revitalizing the downtown areas of so many suburbs across the Chicago area. Formerly located on the outskirts of Lockport close to I-355, RE/MAX Impact recently moved to a new office at 900 S. State St. in the heart of the downtown historic district.

The revitalization of Lockports downtown area is accelerating quite quickly and will become even more noticeable over the remainder of this decade as the real estate market fully recovers, said Jeffrey McGinn, who along with Kelly Weis is broker/owner of RE/MAX Impact. We moved here about 60 days ago and just love the change. This area has a wonderful feel to it and positions us to work on both residential and commercial assignments in Lockport and surrounding towns.

He noted that moving the office to the second floor at 9th and State streets, above the William Alexander Wine Bar, puts it at the busiest corner in town, with more than 20,000 vehicles passing by each day.

Like so many real estate brokerages, RE/MAX Impact is taking advantage of new levels of communications technology that allow its brokers greater flexibility and freedom. The result is that the brokerage office can have a more compact footprint because brokers spend less time there, often doing much of their work from their home or vehicle.

This already looks like it will be a year of strong recovery for the housing market, so this was an ideal time to make a move that positions us to serve clients with maximum efficiency, said McGinn. We want to be ready to handle an especially active spring housing market, and all our systems are in place to do that.

RE/MAX has long been a leader in home sales in the Lockport area. In 2012, RE/MAX was the leader in listings sold, with a market share of 25 percent. RE/MAX was also number one in market share for listings sold and total transactions in Will County.

RE/MAX has been the leader in the northern Illinois real estate market since 1989. The RE/MAX Northern Illinois network, with headquarters in Elgin, Ill., consists of 2,000 sales associates and 100 individually owned and operated RE/MAX offices that provide a full range of residential and commercial brokerage services. Its http://www.illinoisproperty.com and http://www.remax.com websites are leaders in consumer visits among real estate franchise brands. The northern Illinois network is part of RE/MAX LLC, a global real estate organization with 89,000 sales associates in 90+ nations. The RE/MAX organization has been recognized for numerous industry honors for excellence, and its Associates continue to lead the industry in professional designations, experience and production. Nobody in the world sells more real estate than RE/MAX. RE/MAX is the official real estate partner of Childrens Miracle Network Hospitals and the national sponsor of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
